TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. I acknowledge that ocean swimming involves the real risk of serious injury or even death from various causes including overexertion, equipment failure, dehydration, accidents with other participants or the environment.

  2. I understand that I should not take part in this training session if conditions are above my ability in open water swimming and may risk both my safety and the instructors

  3. I will communicate to the instructor if I am uncomfortable or distressed throughout the training session.

  4. I understand I may be asked to leave the session if I am not capable of swimming consistently, don't listen to instructions placing other swimmers at risk or, are requiring additional coaching support and again placing other swimmers at risk

  5. By competing, I accept all risks necessarily flowing from my participation which could result in loss of life or permanent injury. Accordingly, I release all persons or corporations associated directly or indirectly with the conduct of the event from all claims demands and proceedings arising out of my participation and I hereby indemnify them against all liability (including liability for their negligence and the negligence of others) for all injury, loss or damage arising out of or connected with my participation in this training session. This release shall extend to and include Boost Coaching Ltd respective directors, partners, managers, officers, agents, contractors, employees and volunteers including medical and paramedical personnel appointed for the event, the owners, licensees and occupiers of land upon which the event or any part of it is conducted, any statutory body or local authority having control over any land upon which the event or any part of it is conducted or which is involved directly or indirectly with the event in any manner whatsoever and promoters, sponsors and event organisers. This release and indemnity continues forever and binds my heirs, executors, personal representative and assigns

  6. I consent to receiving any medical treatment that the trainer thinks is necessary during or after the training session

  7. Safety precautions undertaken by the instructor are a service to me but are not a guarantee of safety

  8. I am fully responsible for the security of my personal possessions at the training session.

  9. I agree to my name and contact details being included on the Boost Coaching email database.

OPERATING UNDER RED

SafeSwim - Operating Under "Red"

Below we have listed contingencies that meet with the approval of SafeSwim to allow us to operate under Red conditions.

1. Start- you will need to walk into the water to at least Chest Depth (deeper than 60cm) before you start swimming

2. Finish - at the completion of the swim session aim to stand up at the earliest possible time and walk into the shore - aiming to walk in from at least 60cm depth

3. Head Up – alternatively, you must keep your head out of the water until you are at least 60cm deep or swim with your head as you approach the shore at the finish before standing and walking in.

4. Age – you should not be swimming if you are either very young or elderly, ie under 12 or over 70 or have any medical or immune condition that may be compromised due to the small increase in risk at the “Red” Level.

5. Warm Up / Wind Down – not permitted. Please do a dry-land warm-up instead
