OPEN WATER SWIM CLINICS

Swim Clinics For Triathletes and Open Water Swimmers

OPEN WATER SWIM CLINICS

"Perfectly suited for beginners and novice swimmers with triathlon or open water goals or those who just enjoy swimming and the camaraderie of group training"

These sessions are all about developing core open water skills and boosting the confidence for swimmers. We'll teach and put these skills into practice in a fun, supportive setting.

Your success will come under the guidance of Andrew Mackay, our Head Coach at Boost Coaching, boasting two decades of experience.

Session Details:

Saturday 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM - Milford Beach, Auckland

The way we deliver these clinics is in a group setting - we'll assess the conditions on the day and select suitable skills to enhance the group for the session.

We'll not venture too far from the shore, so at any stage, should you wish to head back to land, you'll be able to do so. We’re likely to go back and forth to the shore during the session.

You may wear a tow float, but in some skills sessions, these will not be suitable.

All levels of swimmers are welcome, but if you are a 'faster swimmer', please note you may wait a little longer between some activities. If you feel you are too advanced, you can transfer future sessions to our earlier group workouts that cater for more advanced or faster swimmers.

Wetsuits

We prefer swimmers to wear wetsuits through the sessions, especially through the first half of the season when the water is colder.

Confident or experienced swimmers can choose to swim non-wetsuit, but it's not our preference for safety reasons and warmth through the session. If you choose to non-wetsuit you complete the session at your own risk and take responsibility for this choice.

You must wear goggles in the session - we do have goggles available for purchase that we recommend for the open water. Please purchase online and we can bring to the session for you.

Cost

  • 5 Session Pack - $99 including Swim Cap (SAVE $26)

  • Individuals Sessions

    • $25 per Session

    • You will be provided One Compulsory Boost Coaching Swim Cap per season

  • Boost Coaching Swim Caps $15 Replacement or Additional Boost Coaching Swim Caps - Purchase Here

These sessions are for you if.

  • You want to evolve your open water swimming skills.

  • You can swim consistently for at least 5 min at a time between breaks.

  • You can listen and follow instructions from our coaches

  • Are prepared to challenge yourself - swimmers that aren’t as fit can take longer rest before re-joining the clinic again if needed.

These sessions are NOT for you if.

  • You cannot swim

  • You require a lot of 1:1 attention from our coaches

  • You are not willing to wear the required safety equipment (e.g., Boost Coaching brightly colored swim cap, wetsuit if advised).
